What is a HipMap?

HipMaps brings destinations and events to life in a unique way: through a custom-designed maps and companion smartphone app, showcasing what makes an area or an event special while making it easy for visitors to explore, all thanks to the destination or event HipMap host.

What is the difference between Google Maps and HipMaps?

Google Maps is built to show you everything. A HipMap is built to show you what matters, hand-selected by the host of the map (usually a destination or an event organizer). By focusing on the points of interest that are most relevant to you and your audience, HipMaps makes exploring an area simpler and more meaningful. How does the HipMaps App enhance an experience?

Users can:

View their real-time location on the map – they always know where they are!
Read the map host’s curated insights about each point of interest.
Pull up directions in either Apple Maps or Google Maps.
Connect to external websites for more information on each point of interest.

What is included in the price of a HipMap?

Each package includes

A digital and printable map.
Up to 30 highlighted locations.
Your comments about each place in the HipMaps app, i.e. “Best prime rib in town and make sure to order the Original Old Fashioned before dinner.”
Links to websites and GPS directions in either Apple Maps or Google Maps.
Your custom design and branding.
A HipMaps App access code that is unique to your map.
Hosting on the HipMaps app for up to 1,000 app uses in a year.
A high-resolution image suitable for printing marketing materials and merchandise.
Image files suitable for digital use such as posting on social media and on websites, including in emails, adding to programs and other digital materials.

Is HipMaps a subscription?

No, this is not a subscription model. The fee to design your first HipMap includes hosting on the HipMaps app for one year. After one year, there is an annual app renewal fee of $100 for up to 1,000 app uses in one year.

What happens if I exceed 1,000 app uses in a year?

It’s simply $100 for an extra 1,000 uses, capped at $1,000 for unlimited app uses in one year. Note: if you host five or more HipMaps in one year, all five HipMaps include unlimited app uses.

Can I work with sponsors to help fund my HipMap?

Yes! Businesses can definitely sponsor your HipMap, helping offset costs—or even create additional revenue streams for you —while gaining valuable exposure and increasing their visibility among your attendees. We will incorporate your sponsor’s logos on your HipMap and list them in the app for additional exposure, website links and directions to their door.
